The initial plan for the project methodology has been completed. Research carried out for this identified two methodologies which will both be suitable for the project. The Agile development methodology will be used as the primary methodology and this will be complemented with the Rapid, Iterative, Testing and Evaluation (RITE) method.
RITE is put forward as the most suitable development methodology for gesture-based applications by Microsoft due to its iterative nature and focus on user testing and feedback.
A great deal of progress has been made in programming in C# (the language required for programming the Kinect) as part of the creative computing module. A solid understanding of its structure and syntax has been developed and a great deal of practise has been had over the past three months which, it is hoped, will ensure the development process keeps to schedule.
The next stage of the project is to build an action plan. This will detail how the project will be carried out, in what stages and when.
